The sailing route for your dream vacation
Day 1: The Marina Gouvia – An ideal starting point
Our Nautic Alliance base is located in Marina Gouvia at Pier A, close to Corfu International Airport. Marina Gouvia is the perfect starting point for your sailing adventure. On the first day, check-in, technical briefing and shopping are on the agenda. While the yacht takeover is being prepared, you can get your first impressions of the island. A visit to the Ankoretto Café right at the harbor is ideal to start the trip with a coffee or snack. The cafe has a great terrace and is open until late. Corfiot specialties are served here on Fridays and Saturdays.
➡️ Once the holiday yacht is ready, you can head towards Petriti (20 SM), an idyllic fishing village on the southeast coast of Corfu. Anchor in the southern part of the bay and end the evening with a walk and a fresh fish dinner in one of the many taverns.
Day 2: Cast off towards Paxos
On your first day of sailing, head south to the northern coast of Paxos Island, approximately 16 nautical miles away, to the idyllic bay of Lakka. This small place is ideal for anchoring and invites you to relax. 🌬️ With north and northeast winds, it can be a little windier in the front part of the bay. A short hike to the lighthouse offers a nice change and is rewarded with a fantastic view over the picturesque landscape of Paxos. Enjoy the Mediterranean charm with a traditional Corfiot meal in a waterfront tavern or a drink in one of the local bars.
Day 3: Off to the capital Gaios
Set sail along the western coast of Paxos and head to the charming capital of Gaios. The route offers spectacular views of hidden coves, impressive grottos, majestic rocks and sheer cliffs, all shimmering in the turquoise waters. However, these bays should only be visited when the winds are light and staying overnight on the west side of the island is not advisable.
Once you arrive in the idyllic port of Gaios, you can stroll through the narrow streets and discover numerous small shops, cozy restaurants and cafes. The port of Gaios also offers water and electricity connections as well as fueling options. Inland you will find magical olive groves and fantastic viewpoints, which can be wonderfully explored with a rented scooter. 🛴
Day 4: From the beautiful Antipaxos to Parga
Ready to discover more breathtaking bays? Then the island of Antipaxos is your next sailing destination. This small Ionian island, surrounded by crystal clear waters and exotic beaches, is perfect for a swimming stop. 🏊 Please note, however, that the bays do not offer good protection in strong winds and are therefore not suitable for overnight stays.
Our tip: Sail to Antipaxos early in the morning to avoid the large crowds of tourists. After this short swim, we recommend that you set sail towards the mainland to Parga (15 NM). ⛵ You can either dock or anchor in the port of Parga. Diesel is available by tanker if required.
Use the rest of the day to explore the charming little town, learn about the history and stroll through the narrow streets with many small shops. A Venetian castle awaits you on the mountainside, from where you can enjoy wonderful views of the sea. In the evenings, the restaurants on the harbor promenade offer delicious Greek specialties. 🍽️
Day 5: Blue Lagoon and the coastal village of Syvota
A refreshing swim at the 2km long sandy Valtos Beach near Parga is a must before continuing your holiday. You then sail along the northward mainland coast (approx. 13 NM) and reach the charming village of Syvota, formerly called Mourtos, at the southern tip of Corfu. The offshore bays with crystal clear water are ideal for bathing fans. The Blue Lagoon, known from the film of the same name, is a highlight and offers excellent conditions for swimming and snorkeling. In the fishing port of Syvota you can stroll and linger in the many shops, restaurants, cafés and ice cream parlors. The harbor offers a safe water and power supply as well as fueling options for the yacht.
Day 6: Explore Corfu Town
Before the end of your sailing holiday, you should definitely take the chance to visit the beautiful and historic city of Corfu. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007 and impresses with its breathtaking Venetian architecture. 🌆 Explore the two impressive fortresses and enjoy a relaxing walk through the narrow streets of the old town. The bay of Garitsa or the small harbor of Mantraki directly below the old fortress are ideal for anchoring.
Day 7: Return to the starting port of Marina Gouvia
➡️ Before you return to Marina Gouvia on the last day of your charter trip, we recommend that you take a half-day swimming stop in a bay north of the port. Along the coast you will find numerous taverns that serve delicious Greek food with fantastic views. After returning your yacht to Marina Gouvia, we recommend spending the evening at the Olympia Mare restaurant or Harry’s Taverna. Here you can reflect on the unforgettable moments of your trip and enjoy the Mediterranean charm of the island for the last time.
The team in Corfu looks forward to welcoming you! 😊
