Infrastructure and shopping in Portoferraio
The marina is in the urban area of Portoferraio. It has the usual facilities of a marina and a petrol station. From the small restaurant you have a view of the sea. There is also a very well-stocked supermarket close to the marina where you can buy provisions for your sailing trip.
Arriving at your yacht charter in Elba
The island of Elba has good flight and ferry connections all year round. In the summer months, there are regular direct flights to Elba from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and of course Italy. The preferred airports for travelling to Elba for sailing are Pisa and Florence. From here there are very good rail connections to Piombino Marittima, where the ferry to Elba departs. Direct transfers from the airports are also available. However, there are also very good connecting flights to Elba from the Italian airports of Pisa, Florence, Milan, Bologna and Rome. The airport in Elba is in La Pila and is very easy to reach with a short transfer.
You can also reach your yacht charter in your own car; a supervised car park is available in the marina. Elba is only 10 km from the Italian mainland. There are ferry connections from Piombino Marittima on the mainland to Elba several times a day. The crossing takes only one hour. The ferry terminal on Elba is just near the base in Portoferraio.
