Our skipper training for catamarans includes the following focuses:
Safety briefing and behavior on board
• Storage and handling of safety equipment (life jackets, life raft)
• Operation of engines and technical systems
• Check-in and check-out procedures for chartered catamarans
Specific Maneuvers
• Basics of maneuvering with twin engines
• Docking and undocking techniques under various conditions
• Maneuvering in confined spaces: pivoting on the spot
Sailing Maneuvers
• Hoisting, lowering, and trimming the sails
• Reefing the jib and mainsail
• Differences in sailing techniques between catamarans and monohulls
• Man-overboard maneuvers (MOB)
Anchoring and Mooring Maneuvers
• Specifics of mooring and anchoring with a catamaran
• Theory and practical execution of anchoring techniques
• Handling various buoy types and buoy maneuvers
Harbor Maneuvers and Specific Techniques
• Using twin engines for easier maneuvering in tight spaces
• Docking and undocking in marinas and harbors with side winds
Our german-speaking trainers bring years of experience as skippers. The order of the training modules will be adjusted according to the weather conditions. Individual wishes from participants can be taken into consideration.
We return to the marina every day and you have the option to stay overnight on the yacht during the training period.

Our courses include the most important sailing knowledge, which you will receive from our experienced skippers during the training. In this way, you will learn the practical knowledge and skills you need to operate a yacht safely and confidently.

The order of the training modules will be adjusted according to the weather conditions.
Individual requests from participants can be taken into consideration.
We return to the harbor every day, and you have the option to stay overnight on the yacht during the training.
Departure
Trainings that start on Saturday have a departure time at 14:00.
Training that start on Tuesday have a departure time at 17:00.
Please be at the base 1h before the training begins to have no delays at check-in.
Arrival
Trainings that start on Saturday and end on Tuesday have a return time at 13:00.
Trainings that start on Tuesday and end on Fridays have a return time at 16:00.
Available on board
The yacht is equipped with essential amenities, including comfortable bedding, safety equipment, navigation tools to ensure a pleasant and secure sailing experience.
Meeting point
The meeting point for all participants is in front of the Pitter Yachtcharter office.
